EPMUN - A Report from the Secretariat

On the 1st of March, LEH delegates headed to Epsom College, where we were very excited to partake in their annual MUN conference. We arrived at the school and were amazed at the number of delegations and delegates. After an excellent selection of breakfast, we headed to our committee rooms to introduce ourselves to the other delegates.

After the short introductory session, we were directed to the opening ceremony, where we were reminded of proper MUN procedure and taught a brief history of Epsom MUN. Excited to start the day, we headed back to our committee rooms to resume debate on topics from the question of reparations for post-colonial nations to the question of the security of cyber warfare. The LEH delegates presented (and passed!) some amazing resolutions as well as asking a plethora of points of information to keep the debate active.

In the afternoon, we headed to the General Assembly where we had to tackle an unexpected crisis of former British Prime Ministers attempting to assassinate Donald Trump! The LEH delegates debated strongly, and to our delight, we were awarded a delegation award as well as many individual awards. Overall, it was a great event marked by fruitful debate, rigorous discussion and a welcoming atmosphere. We feel very grateful that we could attend and hope to be back next year!
